    Meep! Meep!

    Friday, August 13, 2010

I was going to title this entry "Cat & Mouse" since that's what the children were originally playing, but the game took a "Looney" turn after a few minutes.

As in the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote kind of turn.

They've been watching old Looney Tunes episodes thanks to their Daddy, so their turn around wasn't too surprising.

The scallywag was running fast and furious,

Eldest was lunging, growling, and falling-all in play of course.

Most pictures looked a little something like this,

but here's what a single round of their fun game resembled:

Throw in a few "Meep! Meep!"'s and "Escuse me, Mama,"'s and you have an idea of what was going on.

I love, love, love watching my children at play. The air is punctuated with shrieks of laughter and sounds of pure delight. Nothing can lift your spirits higher. It's wonderful to see how much fun the two of them can have together.

Yesterday they were laughing hysterically as they darted and dodged. They were having a grand time.

It's not always this way. Mostly it is, but you know how siblings can be.

When these moments do come together, I just want to sit back and relish them. In those moments, I know I am in the presence of something really and incredibly right and perfect.

It reminds me that their little tiffs are, in fact, very little. At the heart of their relationship there is a very sweet, unyielding love for one another. It's a special bond that will grow and be nurtured over the years.

    They are so very blessed.
