With it's red-bricked buildings covered in creeping ivy, the University of Mississippi is known as the Harvard of the South. It's also known as the most beautiful campus in the nation, the campus with the prettiest girls in the nation, and the campus with the most elegant and chic tailgating practices...in the nation.
It's tough being a legacy to such high standards, but someone has to do it. Our family is proud to wear our Ole Miss gear and bedeck ourselves in shades of red and blue. We look forward to the end of summer when we can shout our "Hotty Toddy"'s out loud, honor our fallen mascot Colonel Reb, and make festive football fare.
Southern Living Magazine posted some treats and drinks on their site that everyone from every SEC school can delight in. And though I'm sure y'all have seen these already, give them another look, then go to Southern Living's homepage for the recipe's!
You could also look in their fabulous SEC Cookbook that's now available. You remember when I mentioned it a few weeks ago? Well I'm in such great spirits about the start of Rebel football that I am going to give one away to a very lucky reader!
That's right! One lucky gal (or guy) is going to win The Official SEC Tailgating Cookbook from Southern Living. Starting today, all you need to do is leave your name, email, and why you love football season so much! SEC or not, you're welcome to enter and win.
This isn't on behalf of Southern Living or the SEC, I'm simply doing this because I'd love to be able to spread the football cheer. The giveaway begins today, Saturday, September 1st, and ends next Friday, September 7th at midnight. Come back next Saturday for a little more SEC fun and see if you're the lucky winner! One entry per person, please.
A lovely weekend to you all, and to all a big Hotty Toddy!
